Process healing is a holistic, body-centered method wherein all aspects of the client are taken into consideration. The focus is on the whole being — mind, body, spirit, emotions, sexual life force - heart and soul. The purpose of a process healing session is to integrate all these parts into a fuller, more joyful life.
This type of session can involve breathwork, movement, visualization and psychodrama to unlock solutions and move energy through the body. When our emotions get “stuck” or go unprocessed, they can create blocks in the body’s energetic and emotional structure. Much like files on a computer, these stuck emotions and traumas take up space in the whole system, limiting space. When we clear up this space through releasing emotion, changing our viewpoint and/or thought process, and changing our scripts and stories, we have more space to access creative solutions, relax and feel pleasure in our lives.
In a hyper-consumer, productivity-based culture such as ours, it is easy to lose track of the voice of our internal wisdom, our connection to spirit, and our physical and emotional health. A process session can help you re-establish right relationship with yourself by giving you the opportunity to integrate your many facets, increase body awareness, balance and transform your life to a more authentic and passionate level.
My experience as a process therapist has been very much akin to the role of a midwife; basically I believe that we all possess the answers to any problems or questions we wish to work out. By staying present, witnessing and guiding another in the birth of a new realization, idea or solution, I have seen many amazing changes take place in people’s lives. In this way sessions have come to be very organic, we follow the energy together and trust the process as it unfolds.
